“Start Where You Are with What You Have.”

I love this quote. Especially for the New Year. There is no other expectation that anything should be any different than it currently is.  This allow you to jump in right in. No judgement or prerequisites.  Here in the present.  Not based on the past and without worry for the future.

The energy of the New Year has this feeling of a fresh start, clean slate, another chance.  Not that we can’t make changes or reinvent ourselves everyday but why not flow with the momentum of the beginning of the year with some of that collective energy?

To me, it’s not about New Years Resolutions either.  I’m not sure I know what that is anyway.  I think it’s more about becoming what you want to get.  I know--that one needs to sink in a little.

Like Wayne Dyer, who has been called The Father of Motivation, said, "I attract what I am, not what I want."

I’m into self- empowerment. Enough of this victim mentality or blame game. Learning and using tools to help yourself feel the way you want to feel in your life.  I keep repeating to myself and my kids, ‘Try to focus on what you DO want, instead of what you don’t want!’

Your body knows the way and can give you messages through intuitive signals and your energy systems.  What am I talking about?

We have channels of energy (called Qi, prana, life force) running through us and all around us.  When this energy is stuck or blocked somewhere we feel it—maybe a headache, anxiety, digestive issues, self-sabotage, etc. Everything is energy. Simple as that.

Understanding your own energy system and being able to respond to those signals your body is giving you is exactly, ‘starting where you are with what you have’.  It’s super empowering for yourself and your kids too!

The beauty is there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’  or ‘good’ or ‘bad’ Qi.  It all ‘just is’.  And it’s all about flow.  We are hard wired for flow, our body knows how to do this.  We just need to uncover it.

Our energy systems hold the library of our lives.  Sometimes we don’t want to look at the layers, I get it, I’ve been there.  Or sometimes we want someone else to do it for us, I get it!

It’s all a process and your own path.  There is no rule book.  But there is confidence in the process of life itself and it’s unfolding.

So, for the New Year, I am going to reflect on what the past year has given me, figure out what I am ready to let go of and what I’d like move forward with or invite in.

I’ve been working on letting go of comparison and inviting in staying in my own flow, my style of leadership and setting healthy boundaries.  This is some hefty liver meridian energy getting strengthened.  More on that with videos in coming posts…

Wishing you flow and abundance on your path into 2018!
